Parents from Downtown Little League faced off against parents from Greenwich Little League in a softball game at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on September 23, 2009. Money raised by the event, a joint fundraiser for the two leagues, will be used to help pay for field time at the same minor league baseball facility to host games between teams from GVLL's and DLL's juniors and seniors divisions.

The DLL 10 year-old team, on the strength of Kai Glick's right arm, opened their tournament season with a a 3-1 win over Felix Milan on July 7, 2009. They next play on Sunday at 4:00 in Kingsbridge. The 12 year old team was defeated by Kingsbridge on July 8, 2009 by the score of 18-2. They also play on Sunday at 4:00, at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem.

DLL will be giving an umpiring clinic for those interested in umpiring for the 2010 Spring season. This will be a mandatory clinic if you want to umpire. Players must be 12-16 years old to qualify. Please contact Mark Bader at
